The Cherished by Faith Mission Orphanage Project

Dire Situation of Orphans:
A child becomes an orphan when their parents die or abandon the child. When the children are of a young age, close relatives could provide a home for some of the orphaned children. Placing the orphans in domestic service is rare. All such arrangements tend to be temporary, but, in general, orphans suffer greatly. Christians, being a minority, are facing many threats in this regard.
Christians are not among the most influential class in our country. They do not have enough wealth which could be beneficial for the orphans in securing their future. The children of prisoners also have no way to secure their children's lives.
On the other hand, in India society, the oldest males are responsible for taking care of all the needs of the family. Sometimes a single man or oldest boy is responsible to support many family members. In this situation, if children become orphans for any reason, there is no one to take the responsibility to care of them. Eventually the small children have to find menial work and often, due to extreme poverty, they are resort to unhealthy and immoral acts in order to meet the needs of their family.
As there are no special government policies to educate the orphans or to give them skills so orphans are helpless and become child laborers. Nobody takes the responsibility of them. In many cases, due to poverty, lack of awareness and care, young ones may make wrong choices in their life. They become addicted or involve in crimes such as gambling and robbery.
The situation of female Christian orphans in even worse in India. Unethical people surveys on the condition of Orphans in India and the found the following problems:want to take advantage of their innocence and try to use them. Many cases revealed that they are often raped and/or abused by their own neighbors. They are forced to work in the places which are not suitable for them. They are often sold for few rupees and thus making them victims of human trafficking. Their close relatives sometimes settled their marriages at a young age which affects their well-being physically, psychologically, and spiritually. In these devastating circumstances, orphans can suffer mental issues such as depression,
It is an outcome of the multitude of socio-economic factors and has roots in poverty, lack of opportunities, high rate of population growth, unemployment, uneven distribution of wealth and resources, outdated social customs and norms, and plethora of other factors.
Christian orphans probably suffer the most. Christians are cursed for nothing. The Mission Team has conducted many surveys on the condition of Orphans in India and have found the following problems:
